Terence Crawford assured that he will not run when he faces Saul Canelo Alvarez in the superfight they will star in on September 13 in Las Vegas and where the undisputed super middleweight championship will be at stake.
At the initial press conference of the fight in Saudi Arabia, Crawford stated that he will go out to exchange with Canelo Alvarez and is confident that he will emerge victorious at Allegiant Stadium.
"However I have to fight, I'm going to win. It's that simple. I'm not going to let anyone force me or tell me how to fight, when I've been fighting my whole life. I'm not going to run, I assure you. But I'm going to touch him a lot," said the American.
According to some of the experts' predictions, Terence Crawford will be at a disadvantage due to his weight and will not be able to defeat the Mexican, but others believe that size will not be an issue, since the American has the necessary skills to beat the 168-pound champion on his own turf.
After the fight with Cuban William Scull, where the Mexican fighter was criticized for his lackluster performance, many experts in the sport have changed their minds and see Bud with real chances of winning because they think that the Guadalajara native is in decline.
If the American wins, he would become a three-time undisputed champion in different weight classes and make history in the sport, while Canelo Alvarez could end Crawford's undefeated record and send him into retirement.
Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez, 34, became undisputed champion for the second time at super middleweight after defeating William Scull and now has a record of 63 wins (39 by knockout), two losses and two draws in his professional career.
Meanwhile, Terence Crawford, 38, became champion in four different weight classes by defeating Israil Madrimov and remains one of the best pound-for-pound fighters. The American two-time undisputed monarch now has 41 wins, 31 of them by knockouts.
