Trump Authorizes ICE to Imprison Anyone Who Attacks Their Agents
Immigration and Customs Enforcement has been empowered to arrest and imprison anyone who attacks its personnel
President Donald Trump authorized Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to arrest and imprison anyone who dares to attack its agents during operations carried out to arrest foreigners without legal status.
In recent In recent weeks, there have been several clashes between immigrant advocates and ICE agents. Tired of seeing the chaos and scandal generated by the photographs, videos, and testimonies circulating on social media, where the detention raids of people considered by Washington to be a threat to national security are criminalized, the head of the nation granted ICE the power to imprison anyone who attempts to attack its personnel. Through a publication on the Truth Social platform, Trump instructed the Secretary of Homeland Security and the border czar to act with a firm hand against those who attack ICE personnel. "I was returning from Texas and watched in disbelief as thugs violently threw rocks and bricks at ICE agents while they were driving down a highway in their car or official vehicle. These new vehicles suffered tremendous damage. I know for a fact that these agents have a hard time allowing this to happen, as it shows a total lack of respect for law and order.
Therefore, I am directing Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem and Border Czar Tom Homan to instruct any ICE, Homeland Security, or any other law enforcement officer who experiences rocks, bricks, or any other form of assault to stop their vehicle and arrest these inept individuals, using any means necessary.
I fully authorize ICE to protect themselves, just as they protect the public. I never want to see a vehicle attacked with a law enforcement officer again! IMMEDIATE AUTHORIZATION FOR ARREST AND IMPRISONMENT,” he wrote.
“People need to understand that ICE and Border Patrol officers do not need probable cause to approach someone, briefly detain them, and question them,” he warned.
