Authorities on Tuesday identified the alleged suspect who fatally shot Hispanic Sheriff Andrew Nunez of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department on Monday in Rancho Cucamonga.
Angelo Jose Saldivar, 47, a resident of San Bernardino, was identified as the suspected gunman who fled on a motorcycle and was arrested after a police chase that ended in a crash in the Upland area.
Saldivar, whose motorcycle crashed after being struck by another vehicle during the pursuit, is currently hospitalized under arrest, but the San Bernardino Sheriff indicated that he will be charged with murder as soon as he is released from the hospital.
