Azcarraga Jean and the promise at Club America after their commercial alliance
Emilio Azcarraga Jean pledged to strengthen the essence of Club America after the commercial alliance with the group that owns the New England Patriots
The owner of Club America, Emilio Azcarraga Jean, assured the fans of the Americanista team both in Mexico and abroad that the team will not change its winning essence, but rather, On the contrary, it will enhance the pursuit of success.
The statement from the businessman leading the Ollamani Group, which managed Club America and the Banorte Stadium, came in response to the uncertainty and surprise generated among Club America fans by the announcement of the new commercial alliance with the General Atlantic Group, which also manages the New England Patriots of the NFL.
On social media, fans of the Azulcrema team expressed surprise at the announcement that, effective immediately, 49 percent of the shares of Club America and the stadium, recently renamed Banorte Stadium due to its agreement with a banking institution, will become part of the General Atlantic Group, while the remaining 51 percent will continue to be owned by the businessman, who will also maintain control over the sporting and strategic decisions of both entities.
As part of this business move, Club America announced this decision through a press release on social media, highlighting the capacity and experience of this US investment group with international financial leadership.
With this move, Las Aguilas will also share partnership with The Kraft Analytics Group, a private technology and data company affiliated with the Kraft Group, which owns the New England Patriots, the Revolution, and Gillette Stadium.
The Mexican businessman's reaction
After this decision, Azcarraga Jean himself addressed Club America fans through a social media post with the following message: “The same old America, ready for the future.
Club America cannot be explained without its people. It is explained with stories, with memories, with unforgettable days and nights, and with a passion that is passed down from generation to generation. It is a story written in the stands,On the field and in every corner where Americanismo beats.
Today, Club America opens a new chapter, without losing its essence.
I announce today a strategic alliance with General Atlantic, an international investment fund, which will allow us to continue strengthening Club America and Estadio Banorte, thinking about the future, the greatness of the club, and above all, its people. This alliance adds global experience and a long-term vision, but maintains something fundamental: its leadership and its greatness.
Today's Estadio Banorte, the stage for so many joys and memorable nights, is being transformed to offer an ever-improving experience to fans: comfort, greater proximity, and more moments to remember. A stadium with soul and heart, honoring its history, and which will soon be the center of world football for the third time by hosting the opening match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
This step doesn't change Club America or its stadium; it propels them forward.
It's a promise to keep fighting for championships, to keep filling the stadium with excitement, to keep proudly representing millions of Club America fans in Mexico and around the world. Together, as always, all together.”
This is how the owner of Televisa, Club America, and Estadio Banorte, as well as other assets that were not part of the deal, but simply the stadium that has hosted two World Cups and the 16-time Liga MX champion, expressed himself.
Azcarraga Jean's idea is that in the next 30 years, the drive and economic power of teams like Cruz Azul, Chivas, Tigres, Monterrey, and Pumas will not take away their image as a great team in Mexican soccer.
