“For your dedication and loyalty”: CJNG leader sends floral arrangement to the funeral of a slain hitman
Ricardo Ruiz, alias “El Doble R” and identified as one of the main leaders of the CJNG sent a floral arrangement with dedication to the funeral of a hitman
A floral arrangement with the dedication, “For your dedication and loyalty, from Mr. RR” appeared at the funeral of one of the alleged hitmen killed during a shootout last Sunday on the border between Zacatecas and Jalisco.
The message, attributed to Ricardo Ruiz Velasco, alias “El Doble R,” leader of the elite group of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), has been interpreted as a symbol of recognition and control within the criminal structure.
The confrontation, which began in Zacatecas territory and extended to Teocaltiche, left a preliminary toll of four dead and several arrests.
According to security reports, elements of the Mexican Army detected armed civilians aboard a van during patrols in the border area.
When they were signaled to stop, the occupants fled, which led to a chase and exchange of gunfire.
After the operation, authorities seized long weapons, more than 200 live cartridges and an unlicensed vehicle.
No military personnel were injured. One of those killed was unofficially identified as “Angel,” whose funeral was the scene of the controversial floral arrangement allegedly sent by “El Doble R.”
The gesture has been interpreted as an attempt to maintain the group’s cohesion and reiterate Ruiz Velasco’s symbolic power in the region.
Criminal profile of “El Doble R”
Ricardo Ruiz Velasco has consolidated his position as one of the main operators of the “Cartel de las Cuatro Letras,” especially in states such as Guanajuato, Zacatecas, and Jalisco.
He has led violent offensives against rival groups such as the Flechas MZ, linked to the Sinaloa Cartel, and the Pajaro Sierra, accused of treason against the CJNG.
In the Altos region of Jalisco, he is linked to the leadership of the group of hitmen that answered to a regional commander nicknamed “El Geras.”
Furthermore,Ruiz Velasco has been named as a suspected perpetrator in the femicide of influencer Valeria Marquez, which occurred in May in Zapopan.
According to security sources, Marquez was reportedly her romantic partner. The case remains under investigation.
