After participating along with five other Democrats in the recording of a controversial video, where they urged members of the service and intelligence officials to disobey the “illegal orders” of the federal administration, Elissa Slotkin, a senator from Michigan, faced a bomb threat at her home.

On Thursday, a video recorded by Senators Elissa Slotkin and Mark Kelly, as well as Representatives Jason Crow, Maggie Goodlander, Chris Deluzio, and Chrissy Houlahan, all Democrats and former members of the armed forces, was circulated on social media.

In a message read alternately and collectively, the politicians emphasized to the military the right of its members to refuse to obey “illegal orders.”

“Right now, threats to our Constitution are not only coming from abroad, but also from right here in our own country. Our laws are clear. You can refuse illegal orders. You must refuse illegal orders.

No one has to obey orders that violate the law or our Constitution. We know it’s tough and it’s a difficult time to be a public servant, but whether you serve in the CIA, the Army, the Navy, or the Air Force, your vigilance is critical. And know that you We stand with you because now, more than ever, the American people need you. We need you to defend our laws, our Constitution, and who we are as Americans. Don't abandon ship,” part of the message read.

The recording deeply displeased President Donald Trump, and in a fit of rage, he accused them all of “SEDICIARY BEHAVIOR AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL.”

“Every single one of these traitors to our country must be ARRESTED AND JUDGED. We cannot allow their words to go unpunished. We must set an example. JAIL THEM!?” he wrote on the Truth Social platform.

Although hours later the White House tried to soften the message,The president's words were not taken lightly by the public, and a threat arose that put Senator Elissa Slotkin's safety at risk when she received a bomb threat at her home, which was handled by Michigan police. A spokesperson for the Democrat, who once worked as an analyst for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), issued a statement indicating that when the alert about a supposed bomb was received, the senator was not at home, and after requesting assistance from local police, the property was searched, but no explosive device was found.
