Five California airports affected by government shutdown
Among the affected airports in the country are Los Angeles, Ontario, Oakland, San Diego, and San Francisco; the reduction in air traffic begins this Friday
Just weeks before a busy travel season, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced that air traffic will be reduced by 10% at 40 airports due to the federal government shutdown, directly impacting five California airports.
The Los Angeles airports Los Angeles, Ontario, Oakland, San Francisco, and San Diego are on the list announced by federal authorities that the country will be affected by a shortage of air traffic controllers. “In my 35 years of experience in the aviation market, I am not aware of us ever having a situation where we are taking these kinds of measures,” said FAA Administrator Bryan Bedford during a press conference.
