Immigrant is arrested after offering $10,000 on TikTok for attacking ICE agents

An immigrant of Mexican origin was arrested in Dallas after posting a video on TikTok in which he offered a reward of $10,000 for each ICE agent attacked. The post, which quickly went viral, sparked an immediate response from federal authorities.
The detainee was identified as Eduardo Aguilar, 23, who was in the United States illegally. According to media outlets such as the New York Post, the young man was intercepted by federal agents days after the content circulated widely on social media.
The post that set off alarm bells
According to information from the United States Department of Justice, Aguilar published a video on TikTok on October 9 in which he asked "10 specific people" in Dallas to join him and offered a $10,000 reward for each ICE agent attacked.
In the message, the young man included skull emojis, which authorities interpreted as an explicit call to violence.
According to Fox 4 News, at the time of his arrest, authorities found a loaded 9mm pistol in his vehicle. Additionally, records show that Aguilar entered the United States as an unaccompanied minor in 2018 and that in 2019 he was issued a final order of deportation, which aggravates his legal situation due to possession of a weapon and federal threats.
Federal Charges and Possible Sentence
The Department of Justice reported that Aguilar was formally charged with the crime of “interstate transmission of a communication containing a threat,” a federal charge that can carry up to five years in prison.
Authorities from the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) described the threats as “unacceptable” and warned that any attempt to incite violence against their agents will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
According to KWTX News, following the arrest, the young man remains in custody in Texas and is awaiting a court hearing.Acting U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Texas, Nancy E. Larson, stated that her office will continue to move forward with the case and that “no threat against federal officials will go unanswered.”
Uncertain Immigration Future
After this arrest, Eduardo Aguilar’s ??immigration future seems very complicated. According to official reports from the Department of Justice, the young man faces not only criminal proceedings for threats, but also the immediate reactivation of his deportation order, in effect since 2019. If convicted, he must serve his sentence in a federal prison before being deported to Mexico, with no possibility of appealing his expulsion.
