Iran attack in Jordan leaves two US soldiers dead and one missing
The bombing marks the first American casualties since the end of the ceasefire between Washington and Tehran
Two American soldiers died and a third is missing in Jordan after an attack with ballistic missiles and drones carried out by Iran, the Central Command of the United States Armed Forces (Centcom) reported this Saturday.
First US casualties after the end of the ceasefire
These are the first American casualties recorded in the conflict since the ceasefire between Iran and the United States broke down last week.
According to the brief statement, the base was attacked with Iranian ballistic missiles and drones.
The attack also left four American soldiers injured who had to be evacuated to Jordanian hospitals.
Centcom stated that all of them have already recovered and have been discharged.
Additionally, other staff members who were evaluated for minor injuries during the incident have returned to their regular duties.
“Out of respect for the families, Centcom will withhold any additional information, including the identities of fallen warriors, until 24 hours after next of kin have been notified,” the official statement concluded.
