An off-duty Latino paramedic rescued a girl from a house fire threatening a property on Thanksgiving night in East Hollywood, authorities said.
Around 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, Richard Recinos was driving home from Thanksgiving dinner with his family when he saw a bright flash in the sky in the 4700 block of West Oakwood Avenue. When Recinos, a trained paramedic, approached the scene, he noticed flames in two trees near a duplex, as well as embers trailing down the street.
