Four police officers who kidnapped people for the CJNG are arrested
While performing duties as police officers, the detainees also participated in crimes against public health, kidnapping, and arms trafficking
Four municipal police officers from the state of Jalisco were arrested for allegedly being linked to a criminal organization, according to a statement released by the Security Cabinet.
The detainees, who collaborated with the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) They were identified as Hugo Aldair Sanchez Gonzalez, alias “El Tuki”; Abiham Bathuel Orendain Martinez, alias “El Dire”; Rafaela Serrano Mariscal, alias “Rafa”; and Edgar Sigala Cantor, alias “El Pollo.”
While working as police officers in the municipalities of Ciudad Guzman, Chiquilistlan, and Atemajac, they also participated in drug trafficking, kidnapping, and arms trafficking, the statement said.
During the investigation, federal authorities identified four men who belonged to public security institutions.
The capture operation involved members of the Attorney General's Office (FGR) and the Navy (Semar), in coordination with the Ministry of National Defense (Defensa) and the National Guard (GN).
The federal government emphasized that these arrests aim to dismantle criminal networks infiltrated into municipal security forces, one of the CJNG's main methods of operation in Jalisco and other states.
