Air operations at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) were affected this Sunday as a result of a lack of air controllers due to the federal government shutdown.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued a delay order on the ground after citing a shortage of personnel responsible for monitoring Southern California airspace.
According to the FAA's Air Traffic Control System Command Center, the ground delay at LAX began at 2:48 p.m. and was expected to last until 12:29 a.m. this Monday.
