After funding for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) remained stalled in the Senate, causing the absence of Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agents at security checkpoints in US airports due to their inability to collect their salaries, billionaire Elon Musk offered to cover whatever amount of money is necessary to avoid the chaos caused by long lines of passengers at airport terminals across the country.
This Saturday, Senate Republicans blocked a Democratic attempt to pass a standalone bill to fund the TSA by a vote of 41 to 49.
