Kingpin, the dark Mustang from Ringbrothers, was revealed
Inspired by the aesthetics and power of the John Wick universe, Ringbrothers has transformed a classic 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 into a modern masterpiece
When you think of John Wick, dark elegance, lethal precision, and contained power come to mind. Ringbrothers, the Wisconsin-based American workshop, brought those same concepts to the automotive world to create the Kingpin, its latest and most radical interpretation of a 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1.

Unlike other traditional restomods, the Kingpin doesn't just revive the nostalgia of the American muscle car: it reimagines it. Mike and Jim Ring, founders of the workshop, spent more than 5,550 hours working on this project, from planning to final assembly.

The result is a car that looks ready for a movie chase, with the raw power of a modern supercar and the intimidating presence of a cult classic.
800 horsepower under the hood: pure American power
The heart of the Ringbrothers Kingpin is a 5.0-liter Ford Coyote V8 engine with a Whipple supercharger, optimized by Wegner Motorsports. The final figure is impressive: over 800 horsepower, transmitted to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission from Bowler Transmissions, designed for extreme performance. To keep that power under control, the Ringbrothers replaced the original ladder frame chassis with a monocoque structure, complemented by double wishbone suspension and Fox RS shocks. HRE wheels shod with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires complete the equation of aggression and precision. Every component was carefully chosen to combine the spirit of the original Mach 1 with contemporary high-performance engineering. Exterior Design: The Elegance of Danger. At first glance, the Kingpin commands respect. Its completely rebuilt bodywork was widened by two inches at the front and 3.5 inches at the rear, achieving a wider and more menacing stance.
Carbon fiber details dominate the design: the rear bumper, custom lights, and the four aggressively emerging exhaust pipes reinforce its character.
The hood with its large air intake and the front spoiler accentuate its aerodynamic profile. The deep black paint, combined with green brake calipers and a white side stripe, lends that understated and lethal air that seems straight out of John Wick's garage.
The headlights, while inspired by the classic design of the 1969 Mustang, were rebuilt using 3D printing technology, offering modern lighting and an aesthetic true to the retro spirit.
An interior fit for a stylish assassin
If the exterior is pure power, the interior of the Kingpin is synonymous with dark luxury. The cabin is lined in black leather, with fine stitching, chrome details, and carbon fiber accents that evoke a sophisticated and understated ambiance. The seats were designed with a style inspired by motorcycle jackets, combining fabric and black leather. The custom-made dashboard maintains a minimalist and robust appearance, eliminating unnecessary elements to emphasize the feeling of absolute control. The entire interior seeks to recreate the cinematic atmosphere of John Wick: elegant, functional, and with an aura of imminent danger. From SEMA 2025 to the legacy of modern muscle cars: The Ringbrothers Kingpin was officially unveiled at the 2025 SEMA Show, the world's premier event for tuners and manufacturers of high-performance parts. There, the Ring brothers once again demonstrated why they are considered automotive customization artists. Their portfolio includes gems like a Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud equipped with a supercharged General Motors V8, unveiled at SEMA 2023, and a reimagined Aston Martin DBS at Monterey Car Week, inspired by the James Bond universe. However, the Kingpin represents their most ambitious project to date: a perfect blend of power, handcrafted design, and cinematic storytelling. The Kingpin embodies the union of classic muscle car heritage and modern engineering, with a personality that pays homage to both the rebellious spirit of the 1960s and contemporary pop culture. It brings that understated and lethal air that seems straight out of John Wick's garage.
