This week, the Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced to American consumers the recall of approximately 12,000 pounds of bacon imported from Canada due to a violation.

According to the details of the report, the recalled food comes from the Maple Leaf Foods company and, according to FSIS, “the products were imported from Canada without the benefit of import reinspection in the United States,” he highlighted.

According to the statement, the product is also being removed from the shelves of retailers and supermarkets in the United States a week after President Donald Trump announced a 50% tariff on Canadian imports of alcoholic beverages, dairy products and the automotive industry.

In addition, it noted that the recalled products were manufactured on the following dates: June 9 to June 15 and distributed in retailers and supermarkets, especially in the states of Idaho, Oregon and Washington.

Although no cases of infections have been reported so far due to the consumption of this food, FSIS recommends that consumers discard the product or return it to the place of purchase for a refund.
