The Alpine A290 Rallye debuts an edition inspired by Lacoste
Two French brands join forces to create a unique Alpine A290 Rallye, with details inspired by Lacoste and a very special aesthetic
When two brands with such defined personalities decide to work together, the result usually goes beyond a simple visual change. That is precisely what happened with Alpine and Lacoste, two French companies that decided to combine the world of motorsports and fashion in an exclusive project.

The protagonist of this collaboration is the Alpine A290 Rallye, a small electric racing sports car that received a transformation called “Beware of the Crocodile”. The creation was born from the idea of uniting the performance and sportiness of Alpine with the characteristic elegance of Lacoste.

The project was developed as a creative exchange between the design teams of both companies, taking as inspiration one of the most recognizable elements of the clothing brand, the green crocodile that appears in its logo.
An A290 Rallye with a completely different image
The basis of the project is the Alpine A290 Rallye, a version designed for the tracks that already has a configuration focused on performance. On it, both brands applied a new visual identity that stands out for its combination of colors and exclusive details.
The bodywork sports a bluish white tone inspired by alpine landscapes, with visual references to snow, ice and frost. Added to this finish are wider wheel arches, wheels designed specifically for this version, more marked aerodynamic components and parts made of exposed carbon fiber.
Beyond aesthetics, these elements fulfill a real function. The aerodynamics, cooling and stability of the vehicle benefit from these modifications, something especially important as it is a car based on a competition version.
The spirit of Lacoste reaches inside
Although the exterior already makes the link with the French firm clear, the interior is where the collaboration reaches greater prominence.
The cabin abandons discretion and adopts a strong presence of the color red, a tone inspired by the tongue of the Lacoste crocodile. According to the design proposal, the sensation seeks to remind that the driver literally enters the mouth of the iconic animal.
Details related to the brand appear distributed throughout the cabin. The upper part incorporates multiple figures of the crocodile, with a total of 290 representations distributed throughout the vehicle, a figure that also refers to the name of the A290 model.
On the outside, the Lacoste logo also appears integrated into one of the front elements, reinforcing the joint identity of this creation.
A collaboration that goes beyond the automobile
The Alpine A290 Rallye “Beware of the Crocodile” does not arrive alone. The collaboration also includes a special collection of products developed by both brands, with garments such as t-shirts, polos and different accessories.
The proposal seeks to transfer the same philosophy of the vehicle to other elements, combining the sporty elegance of Lacoste with the dynamic image of Alpine.
To accompany the launch, both companies also prepared an audiovisual campaign starring Pierre Gasly, driver of the Alpine Formula 1 team, and Pierre Niney, Lacoste ambassador.
Although it is a unique piece and not a model intended for production, the Alpine A290 Rallye dressed by Lacoste demonstrates how two seemingly different worlds can find a meeting point when they share the same idea of design, innovation and personality.
