Getting married in the United States could cost 8% more than last year, analysis shows
According to data from the Bank of America Institute, last year the average cost of a wedding reached $36,000.
This year, many couples with wedding plans in the United States will have to adjust their budgets, since, due to increased prices due to inflation and tariffs, getting married could cost 8% more than last year.
According to a new analysis published by the Bank of America Institute, last year alone the average cost of a wedding reached $36,000, making it one of the largest financial expenses a couple assumes.
Although the expenses of the celebration may vary depending on the style of the event and the couple, such as the wedding dress, the number of guests, location of the premises, catering, among others, this year the costs in general have been affected due to tariffs since many of the products are imported, as in the case of flowers.
On the other hand, Bank of America Institute detailed in its analysis that the trend of weddings has decreased by 20% among millennials, unlike generation Z, which has tripled since 2019, so researchers consider that the milestone of getting married is more inclined towards younger generations.
Likewise, spending on weddings is not the same throughout the country. The investigation determined that there was greater spending in the south of the country than in the Midwest. Bank of America believes that this is due to price variations in each region.
