A man suspected of killing his wife and kidnapping his 5-year-old daughter in Los Angeles was arrested in Mexico almost three weeks after an Amber Alert was issued for the disappearance of the minor in the West Adams neighborhood of Los Angeles.
Rubén Fregoso, 40, was arrested over the weekend in Mexico, according to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD). The Hispanic man is believed to have escaped to Mexico through the border port of San Ysidro after killing his girlfriend, Marysol García, and kidnapping his 5-year-old daughter.
Daleyza Fregoso, 5, a US citizen, was found safe after the arrest of Rubén Fregoso. The minor is under the care of Mexican authorities, the LAPD said.
