Trump calls on Israel and Iran to stop firing “immediately”
The US president assured that the blockade in the Strait of Hormuz remains with all its forces until a "Final Agreement" is reached.
US President Donald Trump on Monday called on Iran and Israel to stop firing “immediately” after Tehran launched missile attacks against Israeli territory, which has responded against Iranian targets.
“Israel and Iran must stop shooting immediately,” Trump said in his Truth Social profile.
An hour later, the American president posted a new message on his social network in which he assured that “the two parties, Iran and Israel, are seeking to reach an immediate CEASE FIRE.”
“The final ‘Peace’ negotiations are underway, unless ignorance or stupidity gets in the way,” said Trump, who added that the blockade remains in full force until a “Final Agreement” is reached.
Iran launched several waves of missiles against Israel last night in retaliation for the Jewish State's attacks against Lebanon, and Israel responded with attacks against several points in the Persian country, including Tehran.
In response, Tehran attacked Israel again in the early hours of this morning with - it said - bombings against the Tel Nos and Nevatim bases, although hours later it announced the end of the attacks, although it warned that it will resume them if Israel attacks Lebanon again.
At the same time, Yemen's Houthis launched a missile into Israeli territory, which was intercepted.
With tension at its highest since the ceasefire in April, US President Donald Trump tried this Sunday without success to dissuade Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu from counterattacking Iran, to prevent him from hindering Washington's negotiations with Tehran to end the war.
All this occurred despite the fact that Trump said in an interview with the Financial Times that Netanyahu "has no choice" but to accept the agreement that Washington negotiates with Tehran after Israel's threats to respond to the airstrikes that Iran launched this Sunday.
"He will have no other choice. I make the decisions. I make all the decisions. He (Netanyahu) does not make the decisions," Trump said. EFE
