Xavier Becerra could become the first Latino to govern California
Xavier Becerra establishes himself as a solid candidate to replace Gavin Newsom as governor of the “Golden State”
After presenting himself as an experienced candidate to take over from Gavin Newsom, fellow Democrat Xavier Becerra advanced to the second round of the general election for governor of California.
More than three decades of public service are concentrated behind the former secretary of health, which is a valuable argument to win the vote of the inhabitants of the “Golden State.”
“I am ready to lead the fight to fulfill California's promise to ensure we have a government worthy of our gifts,” the 68-year-old lawyer said at the time.
Since Eric Swalwell was accused of sexual assault and was forced to withdraw from the race in search of the Democratic nomination, Becerra's campaign began to emerge after a year in which he practically went unnoticed in the eyes of the public.
