The young woman will represent the island in the international Miss Universe 2025 pageant, which will be held in Thailand this November
Lina Luaces, daughter of the renowned television presenter Lili Estefan, has been crowned Miss Cuba 2025 after an arduous competition held in the city of Miami, Florida. Here we tell you the details of what happened during the evening!
It was during the night of Tuesday, July 8, that the 22-year-old, who represented the city of Santiago de Cuba, took home the big victory over the 17 candidates who were part of the pageant.
Before a large audience at Milander Park in Hialeah, Florida, presenter Carlos Adyan revealed the name of the big winner of the night: Lina Luaces. And, as is tradition, the beauty queen received the crown from her predecessor, Marianela Ancheta.
In second and third place in the competition are Lisbeth Fernández and Vanessa Villareal, respectively.
With this result, it is decided that Lina Luaces will represent Cuba in the 74th edition of Miss Universe, which will take place on November 21, at the Impact Arena in Pak Kret, Thailand. It is known that this will have the presence of Victoria Kjær Theilvig (Denmark), current owner of the crown and who will hand over the position to her successor.
Lina Luaces' first words after being crowned Miss Cuba 2025
Amid the euphoria generated by her triumph, the Cuban representative spoke about it in a chat with the People en Espanol portal, where she reiterated her excitement at being the second woman to win the Miss Universe Cuba title since this nation's return to the beauty pageant.
“Since I was little, I have always said that being a Cuban woman in the United States is something that fills me with pride. For me, being Cuban is not just an ethnicity, it is a symbol. It is a symbol of hope, of strength, of resilience, and of a lot of sacrifice and hard work,” she told the renowned magazine.
And despite having been born and raised in Miami, for her it is a honor to represent her roots at an international level, as she announced in an interview prior to the beauty pageant.
“I didn't even think about it. I wanted it to be Cuba to honor my family and my roots (…) I have always said that I feel more Cuban than American, because that is how I grew up, with the values ??I have, the food I eat,” she declared during her visit to the program “El Gordo y la Flaca.”
