The Delhi High Court has given relief to Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt's upcoming film 'Brahmastra: Part One-Shiva'. Justice Jyoti Singh, while passing the interim order on the suit filed by the co-producer Star India Pvt Ltd, held that the availability of the film online at the time of its release in theatres or around its release would have a financial impact on the producers and the cost of the film. will also be less.

The court, in its order dated September 2, said, "It cannot be denied to accept the fact that piracy has to be curbed and dealt with strictly and screening of copyrighted material by websites created for malicious or criminal purposes." He said that Respondent No. 1 to 18 (website with malicious or criminal intent) and all others acting on their behalf are required to show the film 'Brahmastra: Part One - Shiva' on their website through internet or any other platform. , downloading or sharing is prohibited until the next date of hearing.

The High Court directed the 'Domain Name Registrants' to suspend or block the domain name registration of the respective website nominated by the plaintiff. It also directed the Center to issue necessary notifications asking internet service providers to block access to these websites.

The petitioner, while seeking relief, had contended that streaming, reproducing and distributing the film without rights would infringe copyright and would adversely affect his business. The court also issued summons on the petition of the plaintiff and fixed November 29 for the next hearing on the matter.
