Bridgerton 4: All the details about the new season of the Netflix series
The hit Netflix series, Bridgerton, will premiere its fourth season on January 29
Netflix presented the fourth season of its global phenomenon Bridgerton in Paris, at an event that anticipated the series' release on January 29. Brongniart Palace was adorned in the production's colors, and a catwalk inspired by an English garden welcomed its stars, drawing hundreds of fans.
About the new season
This new installment promises to enchant audiences with a familiar narrative, but with an innovative perspective. The plot will focus on Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson), the family's libertine second son, whose destiny intertwines with that of the enigmatic Sophie Baek.
Australian-Korean actress Yerin Ha, who plays this character, stated to the media: “I would say it’s a bit like Cinderella with a twist, and not exactly Cinderella. It’s a story of class struggle and forbidden love.”
Sophie, in a reinterpretation of the classic tale, works as a servant, a secret Benedict is initially unaware of.
Sophie’s cruel stepmother will be played by Katie Leung, known for her role as Cho Chang in the Harry Potter saga, adding another familiar face to the cast.
Beyond the romance and palace intrigue, the series, an adaptation of Julia Quinn’s novels, continues to address contemporary themes with its distinctive blend of modernity and inclusivity.
This season will be no exception, exploring through its storylines the power dynamics between nobles and servants, disability, gender violence, and even women's sex lives after menopause. The resounding success of Bridgerton since its premiere in 2020 is confirmed not only by its constant presence in Netflix's global top 10, but also by the official announcement that seasons five and six are already on their way. The Bridgerton family, therefore, promises to continue captivating the world with its scandals, romances, and its bold blend of Regency and 21st-century style.
