The singer was arrested on March 4 in Ventura County, California. According to the report, Spears had several mood swings
New details have emerged of Britney Spears' arrest that occurred on March 4, when the singer was detained in California in Ventura County. Official records, recently published, reveal erratic behavior on the part of the pop star, who even spoke with a British accent and adopted a childish voice during the police intervention.
According to the preliminary report, authorities received calls about a driver who was traveling “at high speed and zigzagging” in a black BMW convertible. When she was detained, the agents noticed “the characteristic odor of an alcoholic beverage” on Spears. At one point during the interaction, the singer allegedly told them, "I could probably drink four bottles of wine and take care of you. I'm an angel."
Mood swings The dashcam video, spanning more than three hours of footage into the early hours of the next day, shows officers chasing Spears' vehicle.
In the images, the “Baby One More Time” singer exhibited constant mood swings: “her mood changed from confrontational and agitated to extravagant and submissive,” according to police records.
In one part of the footage, Spears addresses the officers with surreal phrases: "You can come to my house, I will prepare food or lasagna or whatever you want. I have a pool."
He also spoke nonsense during a disability evaluation and later, tearfully inside a patrol vehicle, accused officers of being “cruel to me” and “lying,” later stating, “I wasn't even drinking.” Finally, she confessed to being “scared” and asked if she could drive home after her arrest, saying, “I just want to go home.”
Spears spoke about it on March 27, thanking her followers on Instagram: “Thank you all for all your support… Spending time with family and friends is a blessing!” and encouraging his fans to “be kind.”
Two weeks later, the singer voluntarily entered rehab, before being formally charged with driving under the influence.
Finally, Britney Spears pleaded guilty to driving under the influence. As part of the sentence, she was fined $571, sentenced to 12 months of probation and required to complete a three-month substance abuse program.
