Fher Olvera explodes against Liam Gallagher after promising to beat Mexico: “Get your bearings, guy!”
The vocalist of "Maná" came out in defense of the Mexican national team in the face of the victory that the musician promised on behalf of England
Looking ahead to the next round of 16 match between Mexico and England, two rock representatives from each country have put on their national team's shirts and have staged a confrontation of words on social networks that has given a lot to talk about. These are Liam Gallagher, member of “The Oasis” and Fher Olvera, vocalist of Maná.
The dispute began after it was confirmed that the English team will be Mexico's opponent in the match that will define the pass to the next round of the 2026 World Cup. And the British musician predicted a rout against the Mexican team at the Azteca.
“I think we will beat Mexico 5-0,” wrote Liam Gallagher from his official profile on X (formerly Twitter), sparking a heated debate among users born in those nations.
However, there was one reaction that stood out from the rest: that of the Mexican musician Fher Olvera, vocalist of Maná.
Without fear of criticism, the “Oye mi amor” singer posted a video on social networks in which he responded directly to Liam Gallagher and asked him not to get ahead of the facts, since the Mexican team is more than ready to seek a place in the next round.
"The Oasis singer said that Mexico is going to lose against England 5 to 0. Let's see... don't stain, get your bearings, guy! 5 to 0? Calm down," the famous man said. “See you on Sunday to see how it goes,” he concluded.
The audiovisual did not take long to generate a stir among Mexican fans, who immediately showed their support for Fher Olvera. So far, Fher Olvera's statements remain on everyone's lips and have collected more than 370 thousand “likes” and 10 thousand comments.
“Officially Maná is much superior to Oasis… ‘Hey My Love’ at the end at the top of my lungs”, “This is the best day of my life, Fer de Maná throwing at Liam Gallagher, who asked for this signal?”, “Fher's new memazo is out: ‘Locate yourself, wow!'”, “Incredible video” and “Fher is the new national hero”, are some of the messages that joined the trend.
It will be next Sunday, July 5, when Mexico and England face each other in a sporting event with the Azteca Stadium as the setting. The goal? The round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup.
