Zendaya reveals why she keeps her romance with Tom Holland private
The actress who plays "MJ" spoke like never before about her relationship with Tom Holland and the reason why they keep their romance away from the spotlight
The promotional tour for the film “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” has provided an unprecedented look at the cohabitation of Tom Holland and Zendaya, who married a few months ago, according to the actor's statements.
And both celebrities have been known for keeping what happens in their personal lives private so as not to give rise to speculation.
For this reason, the public was more than surprised by the recent statements in which Zendaya alluded to her relationship with the British man, as well as the reason that has led them to choose a life away from the spotlight.
The 29-year-old artist commented that, although she is aware that her profession opens the door to questions about her love life, she is in control of deciding what to share.
"There is a level of parasocial investment in my personal relationship, and I understand it. I know that I am a public figure and so is he, and we have grown up in front of people, in addition to making movies in which we fell in love with each other," he explained to the Los Angeles Times.
Likewise, Tom Holland prefers to stay away from sharing details about his life as a couple, which is why he considers him a perfect match for her.
“In many ways, I am also a very private person and I try by all means to keep some things for myself and also for him,” he highlighted.
Zendaya added, “We try our best not to hide from the world, but to preserve certain things for ourselves, so that we can keep that joy within ourselves and our family.”
It should be noted that this is not the first time that the American has shared her feelings about the attention that her romance with Tom Holland receives.
In 2023 he noted: "I can't stop being who I am, living my life and loving the person I love. But I also have control over what I decide to share. It's about protecting peace of mind and allowing some things to be just yours, without being afraid to exist."
"You can't hide either. That's not fun either. Now more than ever I'm learning to handle it," he concluded at the time.
