“House Of The Dragon 3” Sets IMDb Score Record With First Episode
The inaugural episode, which brings to the screen the "Battle of the Gullet" between both sides, has been the highest ranked in the history of the entire series
The wait is over for fans of the “Game of Thrones” universe, as the third season of the prequel “House of the Dragon” arrived on the HBO Max platform with a first episode that kept the public on the edge of their seats.
Proof of its success among the audience is the outstanding score it obtained on IMDb, the largest online platform and database that collects hard data on film, television and video games.
According to information collected by Infobae, the episode titled “Salt and Sea, Fire and Blood” reached a score of 9.4 out of 10.
This figure places the episode as the best ranked in the entire series, an honor it shares with episode 4 of the previous season, which is called “The Red Dragon and the Gold.”
However, IMDb has not been the only online platform that has served as a witness to the great reception that the HBO production has received during the first 48 hours since its premiere. The Rotten Tomatoes site has recorded a 95% rating for the third season of “House of the Dragon.”
Despite this high score for the series starring Emma D'Arcy and Olivia Cooke, "Game of Thrones" maintains the highest ratings within the franchise. And episodes like “Battle of the Bastards” and “The Winds of Winter” each register a score of 9.9 on IMDb.
The third season of “House of the Dragon” premiered on June 21 and will have weekly broadcasts that will conclude on August 9, 2026.
What is the chapter “Salt and Sea, Fire and Blood” of HOTD 3 about? (No spoilers)
The “Game of Thrones” prequel started its third season in style with the episode “Salt and Sea, Fire and Blood.” This was characterized by showing a bloody confrontation that combined naval combat, hand-to-hand fighting and the expected participation of dragons.
This battle in the ocean is the result of the decisions that Rhaenyra Targaryen and Alicent Tower made at the end of season two. Despite this, both remain away from combat due to force majeure.
In addition to Emma D'Arcy and Olivia Cooke, the cast of "House of the Dragon" includes Matt Smith, Tom Glynn-Carney and Ewan Mitchell.
