Itati Cantoral supports the artistic name of her son Eduardo Zucchi
The Mexican actress spoke out in favor of her son Eduardo's decision to use a stage name without including his parents' last name
Amid the commotion caused by the acting debut of Eduardo Zucchi, son of Itati Cantoral and Eduardo Santamarina, a new question is circulating on social media: why did he decide to use a stage name without the last name of either of his parents? Regarding this question, his mother came out to share her position in favor of this decision. Here we tell you what she said!
In a recent meeting with the press, the protagonist of stories such as “Without Sin Conceived” and “Until Money Do Us Part” explained that the introduction of her son as “Eduardo Zucchi” during the presentation of the film “Family Disaster” is a respectable decision and does not represent a problem for her or the actor's father.
“He did not remove his last name, but rather he took his artistic last name, because Eduardo Santamarina is Eduardo Hernandez. Santamarina is his second last name,” she declared to the media.
On the contrary, the famous woman affirmed that the entire family received this news with pride, as it has a moving personal background: “We are very happy that Eduardito is called Eduardito Zucchi in honor of my mother,” she added.
“In the artistic world it is not always the paternal last name and in this case Eduardo Santamarina and I are very happy and very proud that my son has been such a good grandson and a wonderful son, credit to whom credit is due," he responded forcefully to the criticism.
Another topic he addressed during his talk with the press was his experience sharing a scene with his son in the film "Family Disaster." And before any speculation, he shared the details of the casting process his son went through.
"They did like three castings for him and he stayed until the third time, I was enthusiastic about him, we went to the callbacks together, we met up during the cuts to eat, it was a wonderful feeling," he concluded.
