Maribel Guardia denies manipulation in the will of her son Julian Figueroa
The Costa Rican actress assures that neither she nor her husband participated in the drafting of the document and that they trust the authorities to resolve the case
The legal dispute over Julian Figueroa's will continue to generate discussion. This time, Maribel Guardia clarified her position regarding the accusations that the document is a forgery. The singer's widow, Imelda Garza Tunon, and her lawyers have stated that Julian's signature does not match the original and that the date of the will does not correspond with his whereabouts at that time, as they claim he was not in Guerrero, but in Mexico City. However, the artist's mother denies this. "Neither Marco nor I know of any manipulation," Guardia wrote on Instagram. The actress explained that they learned of the existence of the will, but nothing more. According to her statement, there was a lawsuit in Guerrero against the notary who drew up the will. "We are not involved," she clarified. She also said that the expert analysis questioning the signature is only "a technical opinion" and that in law there can be opposing opinions. Guardia also made it clear that this case is separate from the one being handled in Morelos. “The legal processes there are continuing,” she stated. The artist trusts that the authorities will determine whether the document is authentic or not so that she can move on with her life. This chapter adds to the ongoing dispute between Guardia and her sister-in-law, which has persisted since Julian Figueroa's death. Read the statement here:
