Pedro Pascal suffered an accident during the filming of Avengers: Doomsday
The Chilean actor, who plays Mr. Fantastic, was injured during the filming of one of his first scenes with Alan Cumming
Alarms went off in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) after it was revealed that Pedro Pascal suffered an accident during the filming of the highly anticipated film Avengers: Doomsday.
The incident, which initially generated concern among the actor's fans, was revealed by his co-star, Alan Cumming, during a recent interview on The Jimmy Kimmel Live! Show
What happened on set?
According to Cumming, who returns to the franchise as Nightcrawler, the mishap occurred during the first scene they shared. Although many expected it to be a complex action sequence, the British actor clarified, laughing, that there was no fighting involved.
“The funny thing was that in my first scene with Peter, he hurt his neck and had to go home. So, I really 'broke' Peter,” Cumming joked.
Faced with Kimmel's disbelief, who pointed out the irony of the “elastic” man (Mr. Fantastic) injuring his neck, Cumming explained that the characters' physical dimensions and the complexity of the shot contributed to the unfortunate movement.
Fortunately, the injury was not serious. Following the incident, Pascal was sent home as a precaution to rest. Entertainment news outlets have reported that the actor underwent cupping therapy and therapeutic massages to relieve neck tension. Sources close to the Disney and Marvel Studios production confirmed to specialized media outlets that the filming schedule was not significantly delayed. Pascal has returned to work and is in good health, continuing his role as the leader of the Fantastic Four. Avengers: Doomsday, directed by the Russo brothers, is scheduled for release in December 2026 and promises to be the biggest cinematic event of Phase 6 of the MCU.
