Rosalia continues to conquer with her new album. This week, the Spanish singer marked a milestone in her career by debuting in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 chart with Lux. Rosalia's album, her fourth, reached number 4 on the music chart, marking the first time the artist has climbed so high on the list of the week's best-selling albums in the United States. Lux has accumulated 46,000 equivalent album units, a figure that includes physical sales, digital downloads, and streaming plays, according to Billboard magazine. This result far surpasses Rosalia's previous entry on this list with Motomami (2022), which reached number 33.
The new album, released on November 7 after a three-year wait, contains 18 songs sung in 13 different languages.
Since its release, Lux has received unanimous critical acclaim, achieving a score of 98 out of 100 on Metacritic, where it is already being touted as the best album of 2025.
Rosalia's fourth album is inspired by holy women, the Spanish singer stated.
“I am very interested in feminine mysticism. The album is inspired by holy women from around the world,” the singer affirmed in a meeting with the Mexican press.
Lux includes collaborations with iconic artists such as Bjork, Yves Tumor, Silvia Perez Cruz, Carminho, Estrella Morente, and Yahritza, in addition to Classical choirs such as the Escolania de Montserrat and the Cor Cambra del Palau de la Musica Catalana.
At the top of the Billboard 200, Taylor Swift continues to dominate with Life of a Showgirl, which remains at number 1 for the sixth consecutive week, followed by Morgan Wallen and the soundtrack to the South Korean K-Pop film Demon Hunters.
With this achievement, Rosalia consolidates her position as one of the most influential and successful artists globally, expanding the boundaries of pop with her innovative and multicultural approach.
