Rosalia reveals new details about LUX, her new album
A week before its release, the Spanish singer shared new details about her fourth album, which will be released next Friday
It won't be long before you hear LUX, Rosalia's fourth studio album This week, the Spanish singer released “Berghain,” the first single from the album, which will be released next Friday. Following the first preview of her new album, Rosalia shared some details about LUX in a recent interview with the New York Times. In the conversation with the American publication, the Spanish singer revealed that LUX will feature songs performed in thirteen languages, including Spanish, Latin, Sicilian, Arabic, Ukrainian, German, English, and Japanese. Rosalia also indicated that the album combines genres such as flamenco, opera, and pop, and is inspired by feminine mysticism and historical figures like Hildegard of Bingen. Rosalia also explained that the creative process for LUX lasted three years and detailed that she used a songwriting method based on intellectual curiosity and spontaneity. Among the new songs revealed are “Sexo, violencia y llantas” (Sex, Violence, and Tires). “God is a stalker,” “Sauvignon Blanc,” “The Rumba of Forgiveness,” “The Pearl,” “Relic,” and “My Christ.”
Prior to the release of LUX, Rosalia held listening parties in cities such as Mexico City, New York, Barcelona, ??and Buenos Aires to share the album with her fans.
Distributed through Columbia Records, Rosalia's new album was recorded with the Symphony Orchestra conducted by Daniel Bjarnason in London.
This ambitious record consists of 15 songs in digital format and 18 on vinyl.
Rosalia also served as executive producer of the album.
Lux arrives more than three years after her successful album Motomami.
This release opens the door to a new stage in Rosalia's career, in which she promises to explore darker and more experimental sounds, temporarily moving away from the flamenco roots that have defined her.
