The stars shared a warm hug and exchanged signs of admiration at the Azteca Stadium, prior to their long-awaited performances.
The atmosphere prior to the opening of the 2026 FIFA World Cup reached its peak of effervescence with a memorable reunion between two of the greatest figures of pop music in Spanish: Shakira and Belinda.
The artists, who are fine-tuning the final details for this Thursday's opening ceremony, met in the dressing room area of the Coloso de Santa Úrsula.
The moment, captured in images that quickly flooded social networks, reflected the complicity and mutual respect that exists between both interpreters. Upon seeing each other, they broke the tension of the exhausting days of preparation with a warm hug, smiles and a brief conversation that showed their camaraderie.
Both singers wore comfortable outfits, ideal to perform the rigorous choreographies that they will perform on the court this Thursday.
Although the possibility of a surprise collaboration on stage remains one of the biggest unknowns for fans, their individual participations promise to make history.
Shakira, considered the undisputed queen of the World Cups, will be in charge of the main opening performing “Dai Dai”, the official anthem of the competition, together with the Nigerian Burna Boy.
For her part, Belinda will be part of the pre-show with Los Ángeles Azules, with whom she will perform the song “Por ella”, on a billboard that also includes stars such as Alejandro Fernández, J Balvin, Danny Ocean and Maná.
