The counsel for the petitioner said that when there is no irregularity in the appointment of JPSC, then how can the revised result be issued. The petitioners said that they were appointed on the basis of the result. Training has also been done. In such a situation, it would not be right to be removed from the post. On the other hand, senior advocate Kapil Sibal, appearing for JPSC, upheld the order of the High Court and said that the revised result has been issued under the rules.

Later, JPSC had released the revised merit list, in which about 62 candidates who were included in the earlier merit list were excluded.
