AIIMS Rishikesh: Air ambulance facility is going to be operational from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh soon. Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said at the 49th National Conference of the All India Management Association (AIMA) on Tuesday that air ambulances are going to be operational soon.
Requests will be invited in the next few weeks
Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said that request proposal will be invited for AIIMS, Rishikesh in next few weeks, so that helicopters can be put into service to save lives. He said that we are working with the Ministry of Roads and Transport and the Ministry of Health for Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS). We are taking AIIMS Rishikesh as the first center to take road accident victims to the hospital directly from the highways in time.
The ministry had proposed the use of helicopters
Last month, the civil aviation ministry had proposed the use of helicopters to ensure timely medical care to accident victims. For its pilot project, the ministry had invited Expressions of Interest from air operators who can offer single-engine or two-engine helicopters for the role of air ambulance from the helipad at AIIMS Rishikesh for a period of 6 months.
Injured will be taken to hospital on time
This helicopter will be used to take the seriously injured persons to the hospital in time, so that their lives can be saved. It is being told that the helicopter will be on stand by service from sunrise to sunset with a response time of 20 minutes per day.
