Investigation is still going on in the murder case of chemist Umesh Kolhe in Amravati, Maharashtra. The latest update regarding the case is that all the seven accused have been taken into custody by the National Investigation Agency (NIA). Regarding the case, a police officer has told that the NIA took all the accused into custody. These accused were produced on Monday in a court in Amravati, which granted transit remand. The detained accused are likely to be produced before the NIA court in Mumbai before July 8.

Earlier on Monday, Commissioner of Police Arti Singh had said that Amravati Police had come to know about links between social media posts supporting Nupur Sharma and the murder of chemist Umesh Kolhe, but the case was "extremely sensitive". ' Due to this, it was not disclosed earlier. He had said that the police did not disclose it earlier to avoid any untoward incident.
