Big action has been taken by ED in Bihar. ED has attached illegal properties worth 3.44 crores in Samastipur. It is being told that this action has been taken by the Enforcement Directorate on the property of Chandeshwar Prasad Yadav, Senior Section Engineer of Jamalpur. His land situated at Dhamon has been occupied 40.5 decimils. The ED has also put up a board on that land. According to sources, this land was bought by Chandeshwar Yadav in the name of his wife. Presently Chandeshwar Yadav is lodged in Beur Jail. His property will be confiscated by ED by raiding his five places.

A large amount of Jamalpur Railway scrap was stolen between 2013-17 during Chandeshwar Prasad Rai's service period. It was sold to Maharani Steel of Jamalpur itself. He is accused that with this money he bought property in his and his wife's name at five places. Also, money was deposited in the bank account. Apart from this, money was invested in LIC bonds, fixed deposits, mutual funds. The matter is still being investigated by the ED. However, after the arrest of Chandreshwar Prasad Rai, many other secrets were expected to come out. But nothing special has come to light so far.

It is worth noting that even before this, assets worth Rs 3.51 crore of Video Rai in Vibhutipu were confiscated by the Enforcement Directorate in the liquor case. The ED had attached this property under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act. The ED had started a money laundering probe registered by the Bihar Police. It was alleged that Rai was involved in illegal purchase and sale of liquor, along with other criminal activities. Action is still going on by the ED in the matter.
