Once again the threat of cyclonic storm 'Biparjoy' is looming large in the coastal areas. If the Meteorological Department is to be believed, Biperjoy can take an even more terrifying form today. It will intensify into a Very Severe Cyclonic Storm (VSCS) during the next three hours. The effect of this storm can be seen in many coastal areas. During this, there is a possibility of storm and heavy rain. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) says VSCS 'Biparjoy' is likely to move northwards. In fact, it is likely to reach Pakistan and adjoining Saurashtra and Kutch coasts on Thursday.

Giving information on Sunday, the India Meteorological Department said that the very severe cyclonic storm Biparjoy over the east-central Arabian Sea will turn into an extremely severe cyclonic storm within the next three hours. Its effect will be seen till Pakistan. By June 15, this dangerous biperjoy will reach Pakistan and its adjoining coast.

According to the local MeT department, heatwave conditions continued in Rajasthan on Saturday while it rained in some parts of the state. It is being told that there may be rains in some parts of the state next week due to cyclonic storm 'Biparjoy'. Let us inform, it may rain in the southern and western parts of Rajasthan on June 14-15. At the same time, there is a possibility of rain along with thunderstorm in Jodhpur and Udaipur districts.

Significantly, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa and other coastal areas were put on alert on Saturday as meteorologists warned that 'Biparjoy' would intensify over the Arabian Sea in the next 24 hours. Tithal beach in Valsad on the Arabian Sea coast has been closed for tourists till June 14 after high waves were observed.

According to IMD, Biparjoy is moving north-northeastwards. The Meteorological Department said that there is a possibility of rain in the South Indian region in the next four days. While Kerala and Coastal Karnataka are likely to receive heavy rains till Monday, Lakshadweep will see rain till Sunday.

According to a report, a warning has been issued for strong winds in the next 24 hours in the coastal areas of Maharashtra including Mumbai, Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts.

The IMD said the monsoon reached the southern Indian state on Thursday, seven days behind schedule. The announcement by the Meteorological Department comes at a time when scientists have warned that the weather system is likely to remain weak to begin with, with slow progress over the peninsula due to Cyclone Biparjoy. According to IMD Director General M Mohapatra, rains are expected to pick up pace only after June 15.

According to the wind speed, these cyclones are divided into five categories. 119 kmph to 153 kmph in Category I, 154 to 177 kmph in Category II, 178 to 208 kmph in Category III, 209 to 251 kmph in Category IV and 252 kmph in Category V There are storms of hourly and above speed.
