New Delhi: Congress's Central Election Authority (CEA) President Madhusudan Mistry on Wednesday said the election for the party's president's post will be a complete secret. He said that in this secret ballot it would be difficult to find out who voted in whose favor. At the same time, on the remark of alleged Presidential candidate Shashi Tharoor on uneven playing field, he said that it is absolutely false.
He said that I have no answer to the allegations brought out by the media, but if someone diverts our attention to some wrongdoing, then we will fix it. He said that we do not want to give any such opportunity to anyone. If someone makes an allegation, what can we do? We can't stop them. Equal opportunity for both the candidates
Congress's Central Election Authority chief Madhusudan Mistry on Wednesday said the election of the party president will be held in secret and it cannot be ascertained who voted for whom and how many votes a candidate got from which state. He also said that the election authority has made every effort to ensure that there is equal opportunity for both the candidates. Voting for the post of Congress President is to be held on October 17 and counting of votes will take place on October 19. Mallikarjun Kharge and Shashi Tharoor are its candidates.

He also said that after voting, the ballot boxes will be sealed in the presence of the agents of the candidates and then the returning officers of the respective states will reach the Congress headquarters with these boxes. He said that before the counting of votes, the seals of the ballot boxes would be opened in the presence of the candidates and all the ballot papers would be mixed.

Shashi Tharoor had sought clarification from Madhusudan Mistry
