Delhi High Court: Dismissed the petition related to the demand to withdraw notes of more than 100 rupees

The Delhi High Court has refused to entertain a plea seeking withdrawal of currency notes above Rs 100, a ban on cash transactions above Rs 10,000 and linking of assets above Rs 50,000 with Aadhaar.
Following the court's refusal, the petitioner sought permission to withdraw the petition, which was granted. "After protracted arguments, the counsel for the petitioner prayed for withdrawal of the present petition and prayed for liberty to take recourse to other remedies available under law," the bench said. On the petition, a bench of Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice Sanjiv Narula said, "It is dismissed."
Advocate Ashwini Kumar Upadhyay, in his petition, had also sought to ban cash transactions for air tickets, rail tickets, electricity bills, LPG bills, CNG bills, municipality bills that exceed Rs 10,000. He claimed that this would be a practical solution to curb corruption, generation of black money, money laundering, benami transactions and amassing of disproportionate assets.
The petition also sought to ban cash transactions in goods and services purchased through online shopping platforms such as Amazon and Flipkart. The petition also sought a direction to the Center and the states to take appropriate steps to limit cash transactions to Rs 10,000 in all industrial and household goods, products and services.
