Draupadi Murmu: The newly elected President Draupadi Murmu will take oath of the country's highest constitutional office on Monday. After this, he will be given a 21-gun salute. The Union Home Ministry said the ceremony would take place on Monday at around 10.15 am in the Central Hall of Parliament, where Chief Justice N. V. Raman will administer the oath of office to him.

The Home Ministry said that after this he would be given a 21-gun salute. This will be followed by the President's address. Before the ceremony, the outgoing President and the elected President will reach the Parliament. Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman M. Venkaiah Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, members of the Council of Ministers, Governors, Chief Ministers, heads of diplomatic missions, Members of Parliament and heads of government civil and military officials will attend the ceremony.

At the conclusion of the ceremony in the Central Hall of Parliament, the President will proceed to the 'Rashtrapati Bhavan', where he will be presented with an 'Inter-Service Guard of Honour' and will be accorded a courtesy call on the outgoing President. Let us tell you that Draupadi Murmu (64) created history on Thursday by defeating Yashwant Sinha, the presidential candidate of opposition parties. Murmu secured more than 64 percent of the valid votes of MPs and MLAs including the electoral college and won the election by a huge margin. She will become the 15th President of the country.

Draupadi Murmu got 6,76,803 votes as against Sinha's 3,80,177 votes. She will be the first to be born after independence and the youngest president to hold the top post. She is also the second woman to become president.
