It is being considered all over the world that accountability should be brought in social media. Ashwini Vaishnav said this statement during the National Startup Conference.

According to news agency ANI, the IT Minister said that the Internet on mobile phones and social media platforms has brought powerful and transformative changes, but it should have come with responsibilities. Vaishnav stressed that there is a need to make social media and the digital world more accountable.

He further said, be it any company, in any field, they should follow the laws of India. Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnav says that it is everyone's responsibility to follow the laws passed by the Parliament. Let us tell you that this statement has come when Twitter has moved the court against the order of the Central Government to remove the content posted on the microblogging platform. Twitter has accused Indian officials of abuse of power.

Vaishnav said that the journey of Digital India for the last 8 years has been satisfactory. 8 years ago there were few startups and today there are 73,000 startups and more than 100 unicorns. Discussions are being held with all the startups on how to take this journey forward for the next 10 years.
