Lightning killed 20 lives in Bihar on Tuesday. Condoling the death due to freezing in eight districts of the state, the Chief Minister has announced an immediate compensation of Rs.4 lakh each to the dependents of the deceased. From yesterday late evening till today, 07 in Kaimur, 04 in Bhojpur, 04 in Patna, 01 in Jehanabad, 01 in Arwal, 01 in Rohtas, 01 in Siwan and 01 in Aurangabad. .

The Chief Minister said that he is with the affected families in this hour of disaster. The Chief Minister has directed to give an ex-gratia grant of Rs.4 lakh each to the next of kin of all the deceased immediately. CM Nitish has appealed to the people that all people should take full vigil in bad weather and follow the suggestions issued by the Disaster Management Department from time to time to prevent thunderstorms. Stay at home in bad weather and stay safe.

In Kaimur district, Thanke claimed four lives and six women were badly burnt. According to the information, lightning fell on the women who went to plant in Goi Badhar of Chand block of the district. During this, one woman died, while six were injured. The deceased has been identified as Ravita Devi, wife of Balli Bind of Goi village. On the other hand, during the planting in Mohanpur village of Kudra block, two sisters who had reached the field with food for the laborers were struck by lightning. In this both died.

At the same time, a youth of Hata, who had gone to celebrate a party on Tuesday in Karkatgarh, located on Kaimur hill of Chainpur police station area, died on the spot due to lightning while taking a bath in the waterfall. The youth is said to be Arun Kesari, son of late Mahadev Kesari, resident of Hata Bazar. The incident is said to have happened around three o'clock on Tuesday afternoon. Eight people have died due to lightning in the district for two days, Monday and Tuesday.
