A tragic bus accident in Nepal has claimed the lives of at least 27 Indian tourists, all from Maharashtra, and left 16 others injured. The incident occurred yesterday when the bus they were traveling in veered off the Prithvi Highway and plunged into the Marsyangdi River in the Aanboo Kaireni area of Tanahun district. The group of tourists was on a pilgrimage tour, visiting various religious sites in Nepal when the unfortunate event took place.

In the wake of this tragedy, Union Minister Raksha Khadse, along with Nepal’s Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, visited the Tribhuvan University Education Hospital in Kathmandu earlier today. The ministers met with the injured survivors, offering them solace and assuring them of all possible assistance from both the Indian and Nepali governments. The visit was aimed at coordinating relief efforts and ensuring that the victims receive the best possible medical care.

The bus, which was carrying a total of 43 passengers, skidded off the highway in treacherous conditions, resulting in a catastrophic fall into the river below. The accident site is known for its narrow roads and sharp turns, making it particularly dangerous during the monsoon season when roads become slippery. Rescue operations were immediately launched by local authorities, with the Nepal Army, police, and local volunteers all contributing to the efforts to save lives.

The survivors were rushed to the Tribhuvan University Education Hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment for their injuries. Some of the injured are reported to be in critical condition, requiring intensive care. Union Minister Khadse, while speaking to the media at the hospital, expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and extended condolences to the families of the victims.
