PM Modi shows green signal to Nagpur-Bilaspur Vande Bharat Express, also inaugurates metro
Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the 'Vande Bharat Express' train connecting Nagpur to Bilaspur on Sunday morning.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the 'Vande Bharat Express' train connecting Nagpur (Maharashtra) to Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh) on Sunday morning. Modi flagged off the train from Nagpur railway station. During this, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde was also present along with PM Modi.
During this, he also laid the foundation stone for the redevelopment work of Nagpur and Ajni railway stations. Their redevelopment will cost about Rs 590 crore and Rs 360 crore respectively. The Prime Minister also dedicated to the nation the Government Maintenance Depot (locomotive maintenance depot) at Ajni in the city and the Kohli-Narkhed section of the Nagpur-Itarsi Third Line Project. These projects have been developed at a cost of about Rs 110 crore and about Rs 450 crore respectively.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi traveled Nagpur Metro from Freedom Park to Khapri, during which he also interacted with the students. The Prime Minister bought his ticket at the Freedom Park station of the Nagpur Metro.
After this, PM Modi dedicated Nagpur Metro Phase-1 to the nation and laid the foundation stone of 'Nagpur Metro Phase-2'. Along with this, PM inaugurated the first phase of Samridhi Mahamarg connecting Nagpur and Shirdi.
It goes on to say that it will be known by the name of Balasaheb Thackeray Maharashtra Samridhi Mahamarg. It is about 701 km long and is being built at a cost of about Rs 55,000 crore. It is one of the longest expressways in India, passing through 10 districts of Maharashtra and major urban areas of Amravati, Aurangabad and Nashik.
