An encounter between security forces and Naxalites continues in Kanker, Chhattisgarh on Sunday. Four to five Naxalites are reported to have been injured in this encounter. The influx of Naxalites in Kanker has increased once again. About two weeks before this, on January 28, there was an encounter in Useli forest of Amabeda area. around 40 The Naxalites had escaped after this encounter which lasted for a minute. Many Naxalites were also claimed to have been shot in the encounter. During the search, the jawans had recovered a large amount of Naxalite material from there.

On February 2, the jawans had demolished the Naxalite building in the forest of Amatola Khairipdar in Kanker itself. Naxalites killed DVC member Darshan in this building Made in memory of Padda. The jawans also seized the Naxalite banner from the spot. This action was taken by the personnel of BSF 132 Battalion and Police Force.
