Following an order of the Delhi High Court, aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Wednesday issued strict instructions for passengers. The DGCA said that if a passenger does not wear a face mask or refuses to wear it, then he should be deboarded. DGCA has also issued circulars in this regard.

In the circular issued by the DGCA, it has been said that even after repeated warnings, if a passenger does not agree, then the airport operators should take the help of local police and security agencies. Not only this, but DGCA has also suggested imposing fine on people who refuse to wear face masks .

Let us inform you that on June 3, the Delhi High Court had said in one of its orders that if someone does not follow the Corona guidelines, then strict action should be taken against him. The court had said that the corona epidemic is not over yet. Therefore, the guidelines issued to fight Corona should not be violated.

The Delhi High Court had said in its order that along with registering an FIR against those who violate the rules related to Corona, a fine should also be imposed. Such people should be put in the list of 'no fly' (prohibition on flying by plane). After this, the DGCA said that the airlines should ensure that all people wear masks properly during the journey.
If you refuse to wear a mask, declare it as an 'uncontrolled traveller'
The DGCA has said that in exceptional circumstances, the removal of face masks can be allowed. The aviation regulator also said that if a passenger needs an additional face mask, the airline will have to provide it. The DGCA circular states that if a passenger refuses to wear a mask or violates the Covid 19 protocol, then he should be declared an 'uncontrolled passenger'.
Airport operators have been given this responsibility
It is pertinent to mention here that if an air passenger is declared as an 'uncontrolled passenger', then he gets the right to stop traveling in the aircraft for a certain period of time. The DGCA's guideline also states that the security personnel posted at the entrance of the airport should ensure that no person can enter without wearing a mask. Airport operators should repeatedly announce that Covid rules should be followed in the airport premises.
