The track (downline) on which North-East Express derailed near Raghunathpur in Buxar on Deendayal Upadhyay Junction and Patna railway section has not been repaired yet. However, the up line has been formed. Operations have also started in this. On behalf of the Railways, it has been said that while carrying out restoration work in Raghunathpur of Danapur division, the up line has been made fit for operation at 08.10 am today.

This morning, 13209 Patna-DDU Express now ran on its regular route instead of the diverted route. This train passed in the upline at 10:14 am. RPF Inspector Deepak Kumar posted on Raghunathpur railway track said that 13209 Patna DDU passenger train was first taken out in the up line from Raghunathpur. Work is going on on war footing to make the down line operational also. Railways says that the restoration work on the down line is going on war footing. The railway team is busy trying to repair the downline.

This accident happened at 9:35 pm on Wednesday night. This up and down line trains did not operate on Thursday. Upline was made on Friday. Trains also started operating. Due to the accident, so far 95 trains have been diverted. And 31 trains had to be cancelled. Sources believe that this accident happened due to crack in the track. If railway sources are to be believed, it may take 2 days to completely clear the track on which the accident took place. More than three and a quarter railway employees are busy clearing the tracks.

12506 North East Express derailed near Raghunathpur station in Buxar on Wednesday night. All 24 bogies of the train were derailed. Eight of these bogies had completely collapsed. Two of these eight bogies collided with each other and fell down the slope. Four including mother and daughter had died in the accident. So far, information about injuries to about 200 passengers has come to light, out of which about 70 are seriously injured.
