Go in and look in the back: The terrible message sent to a mother to find her murdered daughter
After reporting the disappearance of Danna Angelina Munoz in Chihuahua, her family began receiving messages about the young woman whereabouts
The body of Danna Angelina Munoz Rayon, reported missing last Sunday, was found early Tuesday morning in the patio of a house in the city of Chihuahua, after a series of anonymous messages alerted her family about her possible whereabouts.
According to unofficial reports, it was the family itself that initiated the search by investigating on its own on social media, after not receiving a response from the young woman since Saturday night, when she announced that she would be meeting with friends. The search report quickly spread on digital platforms, where comments began to appear from newly created accounts.
One of the messages, allegedly written by a friend who managed to escape from the place where they were both deprived of their liberty, warned: "Excuse me for saying this. I am your friend, the one who managed to escape. And, ma'am, if you're seeing this, go in and look in the back. I saw everything that happened."
The indicated address was cordoned off since Monday afternoon by members of the State Investigation Agency (AEI), although the search was delayed until early Tuesday morning due to the lack of a court order. The delay sparked protests from family, friends, and neighbors, who demanded immediate entry to the property.
Following judicial authorization, ministerial agents entered the property around 4:00 a.m. and located the young woman's body buried under a concrete slab in the backyard. It was later transferred to the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo) for the corresponding autopsy.
According to preliminary reports cited by local media, Danna was allegedly stabbed and showed multiple signs of violence.
The State Attorney General's Office confirmed the discovery and indicated that several people are being questioned, in addition to an investigation into the crime of femicide.
A young woman identified as Mirlet "N," an alleged friend of the victim,She reportedly witnessed the attack. According to authorities, she managed to escape from the home and later shared her testimony, although she remains in custody due to inconsistencies in her statement. The Feminist Assembly of Chihuahua (AFECH) and other civil society organizations have demanded sanctions against the officials responsible for the delay in the intervention, as well as the implementation of public policies that guarantee the safety of women and girls in the state.
