Kamala Harris and Chuck Schumer warn about the alleged damage that will cause the Trump tax plan
Kamala Harris and Chuck Schumer criticize Republicans for allegedly attacking the medical care received by millions of Americans
After Senate Republicans managed, by the narrowest margin, to approve the “big and beautiful bill” promoted by the head of the nation, which proposes multi-million dollar cuts to public spending, two of the most respected Democrats in their party agreed, separately, to describe this action as an affront to the American citizens.
Through a message published on the social platform X, formerly known as Twitter, the African American who until November aspired to become the nation's first female president reproached the conservatives for allegedly putting the health care of millions of citizens at risk with their vote.
“Thanks to the Senate Republicans, 17 million people will lose their health care.
Thanks to the Senate Republicans, rural hospitals will close.
Thanks to the Senate Republicans, three million Americans, including veterans and seniors, will lose food assistance.
Thanks to Senate Republicans, families will see their energy bills increase by $400 a year,” he wrote.
Meanwhile, Chuck Schumer issued a statement calling the conservatives’ approval a betrayal they will have to pay for in the next election.
“Today, Senate Republicans betrayed the American people and brought shame on this chamber.
With the stroke of a pen, Senate Republicans passed the largest tax breaks for billionaires ever seen, paid for by ripping away healthcare from millions of Americans, taking food out of the mouths of starving children.
Because of this bill, tens of millions of people will lose their health insurance, millions of jobs will disappear, people will get sick and die, children will go hungry, and debt will skyrocket to levels never seen before, all so billionaires and corporate special interests can get permanent tax relief,” the letter reads in part.
